In addition to using a brush, the aquarelle wax pastels can also be diluted with a sponge, cloth or spray and hand. We may e.g. make several different strokes on a clean plastic palette and wipe them off with a wet sponge, we can then use this sponge to paint wide rainbow-like strokes.
