SOFT PASTELS – TOISON D´OR 8500 – round dusty chalks – dry pastels

The basic of manufacturing mixture are clean micro grounded natural products like chalk and carbonate of calcium. These together with other additives and binders create the basic mixture in which are finally added coloured pigments.

The primary characteristic of these round pastels is that they are easily wiped off the surface, which helps to spread the colourful dust all over the surface. This painting technique offers immense possibilities of changing the capacity and tone. With smudging and erasing we can readily achieve shades in the painting.

We source sets for school of 6 or 12 pieces. The sets of artists’ soft pastels are offered with 12, 24, 36 and 48 pieces or individually. They can also come in art sets of 48, 120 pieces in wooden caskets or tinwork etui of 48 pieces.

SOFT PASTELS – TOISON D´OR 8580 – four-sided dusty chalks – dry pastels

These draw a bit rougher than 8500.Four-sided dusty chalks TOISON D´OR 8580 are a new product of the company KOH-I-NOOR HARDTHMUTH which came into offer in 2005. The basic mixture is material called PEMZA which is a mineral on the base of volcanic glass. Other components which are added in little amount are clear micro-granulated natural materials like kaolin and carbonate of calcium. These additives are together with other substances and binders the primary mixture in which the coloured pigments are mixed.

The quadric shape is useful not only for frequent techniques but it gives the possibility to cover larger areas with the help of the oblong edge of the chalk. The quadric shape encourages inspiration and development of new streams and techniques in drawing.

We source art sets of 12, 24, 36 and 48 pieces in wooden caskets or individually.

GIOCONDA SOFT PASTEL PENCILS 8820 – dusty chalks in a pencil

They have got the same preparation as the four-sided chalks TOISON D´OR 8580 and are convenient to use them together while drawing. The rendition in a wooden pencil for contours and the four-sided ones for areas and shading.

The basic mixture is material called PEMZA which is a mineral on the base of volcanic glass. Other components which are added in little amount are clear micro-granulated natural materials like kaolin and carbonate of calcium. These additives are together with other substances and binders the primary mixture in which the coloured pigments are mixed.

Thanks to big diameter of lead, this product has got perfect artistic preconditions for each user.

The precious wood, which is used for the pencil, allows pointing the pencil and supports the ergonomic hold. It also helps to relax while drawing. We source art sets of 24 and 48 pieces in tinwork etui.

HARD PASTELS – GIOCONDA 8100 – hard pastels – they have got writing character of pastels which is given by their preparation

Their main component is white clay, mainly white KAOLIN of the highest cleanness and softness. Together with binders and other additives give to the core of the pastel its interchangeable quality and ability to use technique of wiping off the surface. Kaolin is coloured into the required shade by pigments. The lead is prepared in special oil.

The quadric shape, in which coloured core is offered for the use of artists, is useful not only for frequent techniques but it gives the possibility to cover larger areas with the help of the oblong edge of the chalk.

OIL PASTELS – GIOCONDA 8350 – oil pastels

The basic manufacturing mixture for oil pastels 8300 consist of mixture of oil, waxes and kaolin. These components together with other additives give the oil pastel its interchangeable quality and ability to use technique of wiping off the surface. The coloured core is achieved by using high quality dispersed pigments.

The interconnection of all these components creates a unique softness and smoothness for wiping. Thanks to spreading extensive layers plus transition of shades you are allowed to mix the colours and create new tones as with the oil or temper colours. To emphasize this effect use brush and turpentine oil. There is a possibility to use the technique of raking if you put on a big layer.

There is no need to fix the lead in the wood. The lead is mechanical enough and has got quite a big diameter of the lead – 10mm. Because of this the whole coloured core is used without any loss while pointing. This is a typical feature of this product which helps to keep them in the long usable time and excellent art preconditions for every user.
