Hard pastels

GIOCONDA 8100 square hard pastels represent a traditional product of the KOH-I-NOOR HARDTMUTH Company, popular for a long time.
The key components of wax pastels are rich, top quality and perfectly dispersed pigments, carefully selected and purchased from renowned manufacturers around the world. Their light permanency and dosed concentration influence the final result and durability of the artwork. Therefore, for this reason a high concentration of dosing colour pigments has been prescribed for this product in the entire colour range.

Another important component is white clay, usually bleached kaolin of the highest purity and fineness. It gives our hard pastels, along with the addition of binders and other additives, an unsurpassable ability to make a unique stroke on paper or another medium. The pastels contain a set of unique components which ensure convenient full colour strokes without the necessity of higher pressure. This handy feature is also enhanced with a preparation of pastels in special oils. Turpentine may also be used for mixing the colours.

The quadratic shape also provides, with the exception of common drawing techniques, the possibility to cover large areas with the technique of longitudinal edge drawing. In addition, it enables fine drawing. The square shape therefore undoubtedly provides more inspiration.
No component used in production contains toxic or otherwise harmful substances and the final product is therefore suitable for all age categories.
